Our Origin Story

Hey there, I’m Joel Frost, the founder of Frost Real Estate group. Welcome! I’m a Utah native and currently live in Sandy with my beautiful wife and awesome children. We love Utah and everything it has to offer, including its thriving real estate market. It’s a great time to be living on the Wasatch Front.


I started Frost Real Estate Group because I wanted to help people during times of uncertainty.

Buying or selling a home is almost always stressful, and from the beginning I’ve been able to clearly see where my experience can help keep stress low, and make sure property owners complete the real estate buying or selling process with confidence. Not wondering whether or not they paid too much or could have made a few more bucks.

For over a decade I’ve run a real estate and property appraisal company, ExcelAppraise. We’re trusted throughout Utah by banks, realtors, and all sorts of financial institutions to deliver high quality and incredibly accurate appraisals.

Over the years I’ve noticed that there’s almost always a disconnect between the report I prepare and what’s communicated to the property buyer or seller. I never really liked that and wanted to fix it, so I decided to get my real estate license.

Now as a fully-licensed real estate agent I can truly be an advocate for buyers and sellers. Not only am I intimately familiar with market trends, up-and-coming neighborhoods, and off-the-beaten-path steals; I’m also able to help people understand exactly what dictates the price of any given property.

Instead of giving answers like “the appraisal says so, that’s why,” I can give clear reasoning as to whether or not a property is priced correctly. More importantly we can use that information as leverage to negotiate the best deal for our clients.
